LRS Messages of the Day
1. 6 Sept 2024 – One million flee Typhoon Yagi in China – winds up to 152mph. 144MHz antennas threatened. Quote from local Chinese official: “Ho Ho”.
2. 7-8 Sept 2024 – RSGB 144MHz Trophy contest – Brian GM4DIJ will operate GM3HAM/P from IO74MU 1km west of Stoneykirk nr Stranraer from 15:00BST on Saturday until he runs out of stations to work or gets hungry, and on Sunday until 15:00BST.
– Norrie GM1CNH/P may be at Lauder Common on the Sunday. All welcome.
3. Clearance Sale at 1 Bankhead Loan, Carluke – Sunday 8th Sept – preparations going well. Suggest parking opposite 4 or 6 Charles Crescent. New items: large flat-screen TV, 4-ele 10m Beam, crank-up Mast (to be dismantled). See Items for Sale below / RHS.
LRS MEETINGS
LRS meetings are normally held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month (except July and August) at 8:00pm at the Braid Hills Hotel, 134 Braid Road, EH10 6JD.
In July and August Pub Nights are held at 8:00pm at Wee Bennet’s Bar at Morningside Station, on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays. There are also occasional Wee Bennet’s evenings arranged during the main club season.
Most items are archived in Meeting Reports or Society Activities.
