23 Apr 2025 – LRS Special Meeting: The Future of our Amateur Radio Hobby by Chris Tran GM3WOJ

For this special meeting, our good friend Chris Tran GM3WOJ will be coming from his home near Invergordon.  This July Chris will have been licenced for 58 years and has been very active in contesting and DXpeditioning as well as just being a keen operator. Chris was one of the first 40 permit holders when 50MHz operation was being started in the UK back in 1983.  For some years Chris was resident on New Zealand’s North Island holding the callsign ZL1CT. Chris is well-known as a very successful contester, DXpeditioner and contributor to RSGB RadCom magazine and as the host of the GM3WOJ 10GHz personal beacon built by LRS member Dr Brian Flynn GM8BJF. For more info about Chris, insert GM3WOJ into the Search function in the top RH corner of this Home Page.
