The continuing rollout of fibre optic cables, with the resultant increasing availability of high speed data and voice over internet circuits, is driving the current programme of line replacement to domestic and business premises. We look at some of the various data circuit techniques from past decades, which are now laying down their bits as they reach the ends of their lines.
