Andy talked about the single-band QCX Mini transceivers from QRP Labs. He discussed design and construction of these kits and their use for SOTA operation (Summits On The Air).
Andy described how the QCX transceivers have enhanced his convenience in operating SOTA, in which he has been a leading- and well-known exponent for a number of years.

Display of the QCX transceiver and the miniaturised back-up components – batteries, power meter etc which enable the entire station to be carried in a rucksack along with personal hiking items. Running 5W CW, up to 8 hours operating can be achieved on one battery charge.
After Andy’s talk he was thanked by fellow-SOTA enthusiast, James GM4WZP.
There were also comments by fellow SOTA operator Andy Black MM7MOX.
