GM4DIJ/P – 144MHz CW Marconi Memorial Contest

I had a go at the 6 hour section of this one on Sunday from IO74MU near Stoneykirk. The weather was pretty decent but had a heavy shower accompanied with static rain for a little while.

I dropped my paddle key a few weeks ago and broke the paddles. The replacements hadn’t arrived in time, so I fashioned replacements using printed circuit board.

Tropo conditions seemed quite good with strong signals from the South and France. I heard ON4KHG but couldn’t raise him. Guernsey was a surprise. UK activity was low, but maybe more were on during Saturday.
