Mike joined the British Antarctic Survey as a Radio Officer in 1990 and has been ‘South’ every year since then. He was awarded the Polar Medal by Her Majesty the Queen in 2004 and with the advent of modern communications, now has the additional responsibility of maintaining all the washing machines on board the Royal Research Ship James Clark Ross!
